It’s a common misconception that vegetarianism is an extreme form of dieting. However, this could not be further from the truth! In fact, there are many health benefits associated with a vegetarian lifestyle. Here are three myths about vegetarianism that have been debunked:

Myth: Vegetarians are malnourished and lack important nutrients.

Fact: A well-planned vegetarian diet can provide all the nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle. In fact, some research has shown that vegetarians tend to have lower rates of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Of course, there are also lots of vegetarian junk food options available too, so it’s always important to keep the focus on whole foods as much as possible.

Myth: Vegetarianism is expensive and difficult to maintain.

Fact: A vegetarian diet can actually be quite affordable and easy to maintain. Meat and poultry are typically the most expensive items on a grocery list, so eliminating them can save a significant amount of money. In addition, there are many easy-to-prepare vegetarian recipes available online and in cookbooks.

Myth: Vegetarians only eat salad and tofu.

Fact: While some vegetarians do enjoy eating salads and tofu, there are many other delicious vegetarian foods available. There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating vegetarian meals, so be creative and experiment with different ingredients!
