How the Lap Band Works

If you have struggled with weight your entire life, you may want to consider the lap band system. The lap band surgery is minimally invasive and can be done in an outpatient setting. The device is inserted through one of five or six small incisions and is wrapped around the upper part of the stomach, creating a small upper stomach pouch. This causes a patient to feel full sooner and stay full longer after consuming less. Lap band financing is available for patients who do not have bariatric coverage.
