Teen Self Image

Teenagers are rather notorious for having poor body image, no matter what kind of shape they may actually be in.  Even the thinnest, prettier girls might think that they’re overweight or just not attractive enough. When a teenager, male or female, is dealing with actual weight problems rather than just imagined ones, you may find that the situation is far worse. Whether through teasing or their own negative feelings about their appearance, a teenager’s dislike of the way they look can lead to depression and other emotional problems. On the other hand, improving one’s physical appearance, particularly in a structured program such as a boot camp for girls or boys where the lifestyle changes can be continued at home, can lead to an improved outlook of one’s self and one’s life.

If you have a teenager who has been feeling down about their appearance, perhaps looking into summer weight loss camps will help them get on the path to both a healthier body and a healthier outlook. Many parents already send their kids to camp over the summer — why not choose a camp that will yield positive results for them that will hopefully last for a long time? A fitness boot camp in California could instill healthy habits that will last a lifetime and give them a reason to enjoy going back to school.
